Prodigy and Microsoft are delighted to announce the recent addition of Belvedere College to the Microsoft IT Academy Programme.
Belvedere College is an all-boys Jesuit college located in Dublin’s city centre. It has a history of excellence in education and their joining of the Microsoft IT Academy Programme will allow Belvedere College to certify their students to a global standard in digital literacy, through the offering of the IC3 (Internet & Computing Core Certification) programme.
The IC3 programme is a global standard in digital literacy which covers the three key areas of Computing Fundamentals, Key Applications and Living Online. The skills and knowledge measured by the IC3 exams are based on studies of national and international programmes which defined what essential competencies were needed in order to be digitally literate. Belvedere College has joined the ranks of numerous organisations worldwide who are now offering the IC3 course as a way to validate the computing skills of their members.
Speaking at the school last week, Carmel Doherty (Microsoft IT Academy Manager) said: "Prodigy and Microsoft are delighted to welcome Belvedere College into the Microsoft IT Academy Programme. I believe that it will be the beginning of a very exciting partnership and we look forward to working with Belvedere College to facilitate certification of their students”.
